The thesis for the MA Raumstrategien at Kunsthochschule Weißensee is a thorough research on various aspects in the works of painter Francis Bacon and writer Samuel Beckett, highlighting the proximities and contrasts. On the one hand, it explores material parameters: how the two artists perceive space, how they depict the body, how they render time visible. On the other hand, it delves into the existential discourse they propose: how they embody the phenomenology of perception, and self-perception. Two instances in the history of literature and art, toiling on the same grounds.
