Curatorial project on the transparency of the process. An artist faces moments of doubt, of failure, of agony many times through their work. Another artist is the right one to talk about it. Following someone’s process is not only inspiring, encouraging, motivating, but also makes one feel less lonely in their own practice.
I invited six artists, Ibrahim Mahama, Aristide Antonas, Tracey Snelling, Kat Valastur, Matthias Wermke and Hiwa K to talk about their artistic research. Each coming from a different field, urban-scale installations, architecture, video and performance, performance art, street art and political art (how could one describe the art of beautiful Hiwa K?) shared stories from their evolution, moments that they had to fight for their craft and moments of revelation.
Hosted by the Kunsthalle am Hamburger Platz and organised in behalf of the MA Raumstrategien Kunsthochschule Weißensee.
